"With the developments of new technologies the notion of ‘self’ has become disembodied from the physical person. I have used a hacked Xbox Kinect to explore the relationship between the body and technology to create new virtual portraits. With this growing separation of the mental self to the physical self, our integration and reliance on technology will continue to evolve. The notion of identity is endlessly malleable and fluid, but this extension through a technological prosthesis will only ever be a ‘fragmented surface’ of the true self."
